[D] M. Reid, The desert home; or, the adventures of a lost family in the wilderness (1908)

The Desert Home was clearly targeted at a young British audience. Reid addressed his readers as ‘my young friend’, and used images of the North American wilderness to shape the impressions of young British readers.
